You don’t have to translate yourself here. Your story, your language, and your culture all belong in the room.
My Therapeutic Approach
I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be fully yourself. Many of the people I work with have spent years holding it together for everyone else, managing stress at home, carrying old hurts, or quietly getting through losses no one made room for. My goal is to offer a space where you can finally set some of that down and be met with warmth instead of judgment.
My work is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. That means we move at your pace, we pay attention to what’s already helping you survive, and we build from there. I draw on evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Trauma-Focused CBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. These tools can help you calm overwhelming emotions, break out of patterns that keep you stuck, and feel more like yourself again.
I also know that none of us heals in a vacuum. Our families, our cultures, and the experiences we’ve lived through all shape how we struggle and how we recover. Together, we’ll make sense of your story in context, so that change feels meaningful and lasting, not just like another thing on your to-do list.

I’ve worked in behavioral health and social services for more than ten years. For eight of those years, I was a school-based social worker for the Village of Niles, where I provided individual, family, and group counseling, led crisis response alongside local police, fire, and school teams, and supervised graduate social work interns. I’ve also worked in outpatient therapy, integrated primary care, community agencies, and children’s mental health. That range has taught me to meet people wherever they are.
I earned my Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and my Bachelor of Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University. I’m especially passionate about expanding access to quality mental health care in the communities that need it most, and I’m excited to bring that work to Northlake.

Trauma can show up in ways that don’t always look like trauma: trouble sleeping, feeling on edge, shutting down, or reacting in ways that don’t make sense to you. I’m trained in Trauma-Focused CBT and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), and I’ve spent years supporting people through crisis and its aftermath. In our work, you set the pace. We’ll focus first on building safety and coping skills, then gently work through what’s been weighing on you so it no longer runs the show.

As a bilingual, bicultural therapist, I offer therapy in English, Spanish, or a mix of both, whatever feels most natural to you. I understand what it can mean to navigate two cultures, family expectations, and the pressure to keep things private. Whether you’re working through something personal or something your whole family is facing, you won’t have to explain or translate yourself here.
Ofrezco terapia en español e inglés. Aquí puedes hablar con libertad y ser tú mismo/a.
