My Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is focused on helping you create meaningful change—both in our sessions and in your everyday life. I believe healing happens not just through insight, but through small, intentional steps between sessions. Together, we’ll co-create practical strategies that support your goals and honor your unique journey.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, psychoeducation, and SMART Goals. This integrative and often directive style allows us to personalize our work in a way that feels supportive, flexible, and attuned to your needs.

In our time together, you’ll have a space where you feel seen and heard—where your values, history, and lived experiences are respected. Together, we’ll work toward understanding what matters most to you and taking steps that align with those values.

"The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform, to love and to be greater than our suffering."

  • I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals—people whose brains work in beautifully different ways. Whether you’ve recently received a diagnosis or have long sensed that you experience the world differently, I’m here to help you navigate that journey with compassion and clarity.

Many of my clients come to therapy carrying a mix of emotions: relief, grief, confusion, and curiosity. A late diagnosis can bring new understanding but also raise difficult questions. Together, we’ll make space for all of it. I’ll support you in processing the emotional impact, understanding how your brain works, and developing tools that actually fit—not ones that ask you to change who you are.

As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, I also work with clients around desire differences, sexual dysfunction, BDSM/kink, and consensual non-monogamy. I believe that your relationship with yourself—including your sexual self—deserves care, understanding, and freedom from shame. Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, and patterns influence your connection to others and to yourself.

Whether we’re working on navigating a new diagnosis, building coping strategies, or deepening intimacy, I’m here to support you in moving forward with confidence and self-trust.

  • As a therapist, I believe in taking an active and supportive role in your journey toward wellness. My approach is structured and practical—I’ll offer clear guidance, teach you effective coping skills, and sometimes suggest helpful exercises to try between our sessions. You can expect honest feedback, gentle direction, and collaborative problem-solving, rather than just listening or reflecting.

If you’re looking for someone who provides specific guidance and helps you develop real-world strategies, I’m here to help you move forward. Together, we’ll work as a team to address your concerns and achieve your goals, every step of the way.

  • As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, I am uniquely qualified to work with issues relating to sexuality and relationships. I have completed over 150 continuing education hours related to sexuality.

  • The therapeutic alliance plays a crucial role in fostering a successful therapeutic relationship. With that in mind, I invite you to see me as a fellow imperfect human navigating life just like you. Outside the therapy room, I find joy in practicing yoga, exploring hiking trails, and immersing myself in a good book. I’m also a proud dog mom to two lovable and incredibly fluffy Chow Chows who bring endless happiness to my life. Looking ahead, my dream is to embrace my inner horse girl and offer equine-assisted therapy to my clients in the coming years—a goal I’m deeply passionate about pursuing.

  • I am clinically licensed in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Oregon. I am available for virtual appointments in the above states. However, I am only available in person in Illinois.
